Annual allotment inspection

The annual inspection of the allotments in Great Waldingfield by the Trustees of the Braithwaite Trust took place in almost perfect conditions.

The plots were looking excellent on the whole, despite the very dry weather. There was a larger proportion of vegetables this year, perhaps reflecting more difficult financial times! Apparently pigeons have been a particular problem this year on the Folly Road site.

The new Rector, Caroline Hallett, has now taken over as Chairman of the Trust from David Floyd, the Treasurer, who was acting Chairman during the inter-regnum. This is in accordance with the Trust Deed.

Allotments continue to be popular and there is currently a waiting list of six.

The finances of the Charity are in a sound condition, although a higher than usual water bill is anticipated, and some funds may be needed to deal with high hedges on the FollyRoad site. The next meeting of the Trust, which is not open to the public, will be held in November.
