The purpose this blog is to have a space where I can post my thoughts in the period ahead of the forthcoming election for Babergh District Council on May 3rd 2007. I am standing as one of the two Conservative candidates for the attractive and characterful Waldingfield Ward just north of Sudbury. Over the next three months I hope, among other things, to be able to post my thoughts when meeting people in and around the area, and also convey what I hope to be able to do for the Ward if I am elected.
The Ward elects two councillors to Babergh District Council. At present one of these is fellow Conservative Colin Spence, who in addition to being a county councillor, has been a district councillor for Waldingfield for many years. I feel very lucky to be able to benefit from Colin's long experience in the job. The other Councillor at present is a Liberal Democrat; the aim is to have two Conservative councillors for Waldingfield after May 3rd.
If I do become a councillor I hope to maintain this blog as one means of communicating with people in Waldingfield.
