Gainsborough’s House is wanting to recruit a reliable
enthusiastic person to join our friendly team. No previous volunteering
experience is necessary.
As Volunteer Co-ordinator your main responsibility will be the organisation of the room stewarding rotas. You will also be involved with the co-ordination of recruitment, training, development and retention of volunteers in all areas of our work.
You will have the ability to prioritise, plan and organise tasks and activities effectively and be confident using computer programmes. Training will be provided.
Gainsborough’s House explores the life and art of Thomas Gainsborough. One of the greatest artists of his age, he is renowned throughout the world for his portrait and landscape paintings. In 1958 Gainsborough’s House Society was formed to purchase the house and establish it as a centre for Thomas Gainsborough. The Museum opened to the public in 1961 and has remained open for over 50 years. The House has just appointed a new Director, Mark Bills, and is looking towards major development in its aim to bring Thomas Gainsborough to life for a new generation of visitors.
