Some time ago Suffolk County Council decided to close the old gritting
depot off the Melford Road in Lavenham, since it was surplus to requirements.
Now, as a result of councils and local people working together, it is hoped that
this site will become the setting of an exciting new affordable housing scheme
for local people.
Hastoe Housing Association, in partnership with Lavenham Parish Council,
Lavenham Community Land Trust and Babergh District Council, is proposing to
build 18 properties providing a mix of affordable rent and shared
ownership accommodation. Priority for these homes will be given to applicants
from Lavenham with a local connection and people working or living in Lavenham.
On Tuesday afternoon there is to be a drop in information meeting in
Lavenham Village Hall (details below).
Residents will be able to look at plans.
If you are eligible, you will also be able to obtain application forms.
Staff will be on hand to answer any queries you may have.
