Friendly reception committee for raffle tickets! |
I went down to take a look yesterday and once again was impressed by the number of artists represented and the variety of different styles on display. I was also struck by what an excellent place Suffolk is for artists. There were so many lovely local scenes, depicting both the landscape and ancient buildings.
In addition to framed works on the walls, the pews are arrayed with all sorts of unframed items, many of which worthy of closer attention.
This year I was particularly struck by acrylics by Katie Green, humorous works by Steve Griffin, and attractive abstracts by Wendy Allen. It is also always good to see the nostalgic prints from Suffolk in World War ll produced by Roger Lane.
In addition to original works of art there are some lovely greetings cards on display and refreshments are on offer.
The exhibition continues until next Sunday, 8th September. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday 12 noon to 5 p.m.
