Little Waldingfield History Society has just announced a really brilliant programme of events for the coming winter season.
The programme commences on Wednesday 18th September with a talk from Pip Wright: 'For the rest of your natural life', which tells the story of Suffolk convicts sent to Australia. On 16th October the Society will welcome Charlie Haylock, who needs no further introduction! On 13th November timber frame housing expert, John Walker, will speak on 'The Tudor Housing Revolution', a must for all of us who live in timbered houses of ancient provenance, or who are addicted to Philippa Gregory, and finally, just before Christmas, Jane Gosling, from the National Trust will speak about 'Boom and Bust in the Lavenham Wool Industry'.
Further delights are scheduled for early next year, culminating in a concert on 14th May from Ancestral Voices, a original instrument group who blend music with narrative.
I will post details of these events later in the year.
All events, apart from the concert, will be held in Little Waldingfield Parish Rooms at 7.30 p.m.
Tickets and further details about membership etc. can be obtained from Diana Langford at Pitt Cottage, telephone: 01787 248298
