As many will know there is currently a consultation under
way to enable ‘interested parties’ to have their say about the possible closure
of Monks Eleigh School.
The County Council has forwarded the documents to more obvious consultees, but not to all residents of the village. A number of people, both in Monks Eleigh and elsewhere,
have told me that they wish to express their views, and, on investigation I was surprised to
discover that it is not possible to download the consultation document from the County Council website. I have made enquiries about this,
and hope that the matter will be remedied.
In the meantime, if you wish to have your say, the documents
are available from benjamin.copeman@suffolk.gov.uk.
Alternatively if you contact me (jenny@antillantill.com) I can forward a copy to you. There are full instructions about where to
send feedback. The consultation closes
at the end of May.
It would be a huge shame to close such a fantastic educational site at a time when there are already a shortage of primary places for children and more homes are being built. Let's keep it viable for a new generation.
